The federally funded Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) provides eligible participants with phone/internet device and plan access at limited or no cost to eligible participants in Medicaid, certain federal housing assistance programs, and veteran programs such Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits.
The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eliglible households and up to $75 per month for households qualifying on Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.
A tablet and data plan could be acquired for as little as $10.01.
Beyond the applicants mailing address and contact information, it is encouraged that evidence of current eligibility, such as picture of the benefits card, and a credit card is handy to complete the order if a tablet is preferred. A social security number (SSN) is required. An ITIN number can be used as a substitute in the SSN# field if available.
