Army Emergency Relief (AER) helps soldiers and their families overcome financial emergencies. AER is where soldiers are stationed when they needed help. Active duty soldiers receive the bulk of the assistance, retired soldiers and widows/widowers are also helped. An education scholarship program provides financial support for both dependent children and spouses.

Area Of Focus:Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve on continuous active duty for more than 30 days and their dependents. Soldiers retired from active duty because of longevity or physical disability, or retired upon reaching age 60 (Reserve Components) and their dependents.Widows (ers) and orphans of soldiers who died while on active duty or after they retired.
