At the NAMI Veterans and Military Resource Center you will find resources, support, and partnerships dedicated to mental health policy, education initiatives and advocacy priorities that impact active duty military personnel, veterans with mental illness and the family members of these individuals.

We have a new program: NAMI Homefront which is a free, six-session education program for family, friends and significant others of Military Service Members and Veterans with mental health conditions. It focuses on the unique needs of military and veteran communities, such as post-deployment and post-discharge transitions. The course is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one while maintaining their own well-being. The trained teachers of this course are also family members and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental illness.

NAMI Maryland offers the free 10 week NAMI Peer-to-Peer Recovery Course for individuals living with mental illness in areas throughout Maryland. This wellness and recovery based course provides an educational setting focused on recovery that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. Select course offerings will be led by two veterans who are living with mental illness.  Veterans and Service Members are welcome!  Check their website for upcoming dates and other resource information.
